We would like to welcome you to the Stewart Medical Centre.
Our practice covers Buxton and the surrounding areas with over 9,600 patients registered and we are part of the North Derbyshire CCG.
We are an established, well respected, progressive and popular practice with 3 male and 6 female doctors. We are also a training practice offering support to both medical students and foundation doctors. We have 6 practice nurses who offer a wide range of health and wellbeing services and are able to deal with many problems including minor illnesses.
We aim to provide our patients with high quality, accessible care in a responsive courteous manner and in complete confidence.

It has been designed with the patient’s needs at the forefront of everything, from checking surgery times to letting us know what you think of us.
Our dedicated team are here to treat those minor ailments that occur as well as providing specialist management of long-term conditions and clinics covering a wide range of healthcare issues. You can now do a lot of things from the comfort of your home such as order a REPEAT PRESCRIPTION and MAKE OR CANCEL AN APPOINTMENT.

Once registered, patients and healthcare professionals work together to ensure the most appropriate care is provided. This partnership philosophy extends even further and our active patient group exists to make sure that patient needs and the practice offering are always heading in the same direction.
Our surgery is accessible to wheel chair bound patients with car parking spaces available for disabled drivers. All consulting rooms are on the ground floor and are fitted with ‘rise and fall’ examination couches. We have a loop hearing system in reception and a portable loop for patients to use during consultation. However, if you feel that you may need further assistance when you visit us, please let the receptionist know when you make your appointment so that we can make any arrangements necessary to make your visit as comfortable as possible. It is also useful for us to know if you have any hearing or visual problems.
