Most people with Covid feel better within a few days or weeks of their first symptoms and make a full recovery within 12 weeks. For a small minority of people, however, symptoms can last a lot longer. This is known as 'long covid' or 'post covid syndrome.'
Because this is a very new condition there is still a lot to learn about what causes long covid. However, there is help available for those suffering with this condition. If a GP thinks you may have long covid, they can refer you into the long covid service.
