Minor Injury & Illness

Most common health complaints such as coughs, colds and headaches, can be treated more quickly, and just as effectively, at home using self-care, advice from your pharmacist and over-the-counter medicines. Pharmacists are highly trained and can also treat minor infections with antibiotics if required.  Find a local pharmacy using the link at the bottom of this page.

Minor injuries should all be assessed at an Urgent Treatment Centre (formerly Minor Injuries Unit) in the first instance.  Telephone 111 to book a timed appointment so that you don't have to sit and wait. Derbyshire Urgent Treatment Centres are open 8am - 8pm, 7 days a week.
